The ATU 1576 Website is undergoing updating in an effort to make it useful as well as a source of information. Please bear with us as we make the necessary changes.

 

Updates on the website have been completed to the Newsletters and the Executive Board Officer and Shop Steward Lists.

 

Among the information to be added will be some commonly used forms, such as Grievance Forms and Medical Absence Forms, which will be downloadable.

 

The Amalgamated Transit Union is the largest labor organization representing Transit Workers in the United States and Canada.

Founded in 1892, the ATU today is comprised of over 185,000 members in 270 local unions spread across 46 states and nine provinces.

Our ATU Local #1576 here in Everett, Washington was chartered on March 1, 1977 and is the third largest ATU Local in Washington State. Our Local, consisting of approximately 750 Members, represents both Snohomish and Pierce Counties. We represent Transit Workers at:

• Our public sector agency Community Transit operating transit service for Snohomish County

• The sub-contracted agency First Transit Everett, who operates the commuter service for Community Transit

• The sub-contracted agency Senior Services of Snohomish County, who operates the Para-transit Dial-A-Ride service for our senior and disabled citizens of Snohomish County

• The sub-contracted agency First Transit Lakewood, who operates Para-transit Dial-A-Ride service for our senior and disabled citizens of Pierce County

ATU Local 1576 members range from Coach Operators, Dispatchers, Instructors, Customer Service Specialists, Sales and Distribution Specialists, Facilities Maintenance, and Schedulers.
